501 Screencaps

ranrata: (house-housewilson)
I got home at 8 PM, damn late night classes D:

And I'm on a Mac after a lifetime of PC use, so forgive me for any retardedness.

I feel like a late-comer now, but I must uphold my now year-old tradition of obsessively screencapping House and Wilson, as if no one else existed in the show.

I present to you: House and Wilson. You know, in case you haven't yet overdosed on the proxies and parallels last season...

First order of business: "Go talk to him."

"House has more important things to do." Yes, Wilson.
...GOD, WHY MUST I PERVERT EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL? *sobs*

"Have you seen Wilson?"
...squee. Other characters are actually aware of his existence these days XD

Oh god. Here we go.
I don't know whether to D: or :D ...maybe D:D

That's the laptop I have right there.
One way Macs are inferior to PCs: THEY BLOW CHUNKS AT TAKING SCREENCAPS EASILY.

House tries to pretend all is well.

"I'm leaving."
WHATWHATWHAT.

Awkward pause.

"What, are you gonna take another two months? You're really milking this bereavement thing, aren't you?"

I'm sorry, but I laughed.

But I aww'd that House backtracked without even having to look at Wilson's WTF face.
"Good for you. Take all the time you need."

"I'm resigning."

WHAT IS THIS FUCKERY?

"Maybe moving out of New Jersey. I don't know yet."
Haha, very funny Wilson.
....Wilson?

"Okay...that's an understandable reaction."
"It's not a reaction, it's a decision."
HOUSE IS TRYING TO BE GENTLE, GOD DAMNIT.

DOES NOT COMPUTE.

*insert obligatory shallow comment about his doability*

"I'm not saying you're not in pain..."
"You're saying my pain's a cliche?"

"I'm saying pain fades."
"Did yours?"
"Physical pain is different."
"I'd rather have my leg chopped off."
"You don't know--"
"Neither do you."

WHY. WHY ARE ALL THE NEWBIES MOMENT-KILLERS?

"As you can see, I'm not busy, it's a euphemism for get the hell out of here."
ILU HOUSE.
Here's adorable!Wilson.

More awkward silence.

"My girlfriend's dead."
"I have Huntington's."
"I was raped!"
...I'm going to hell.

I'm ODing on the woobie!House faces already D:

And Wilson walks away. He did that a lot last season. It's House's worst fear. (See: MLC)

Commercial break after this scene, instead of when the patient starts bleeding.
Clearly, we know what's more important here!

Blah blah blah. NO ONE CARES. Don't you see being angst-ridden?

"House, this is the kind of case you love."

OMG. He looks so lost ;_;
And then launches into a half-hearted differential.

I'm officially spoiled. I'm no longer surprised by large amounts of Wilson.
I EXPECT IT.

...sexy time?

"You're being an idiot."
Or not.

Oh, Wilson.

"...when you've moved on from Amber to...Burnt Sienna..." (LOL x 2, because I have a friend named Sienna.)

"...I'd need a flow chart to explain all the ways which that was ridiculously insensitive."

"This isn't your business." Ouch.

"My skull was cracked open trying to save her!"
I loved this part, because House loses his cool for a minute. Although he's pissed, it's not the manufactured belligerence he's going for - he's a bit vulnerable here.

"Then we all need a little tea and sympathy."
Damn.

"I am through discussing it."
Why is, that no matter what these two say, they sound married?

House is again irritated that his team keeps interrupting.

Then things get awkward again...

"I just need a change of scenery..."
"Buy a plant!"
You're doing an excellent job at winning him over, House...

Awkward spat in front of the kids.
"You could ask House to be a grown-up and respect my decision."

"I respect things that deserve respect."

And some angry!Wilson to round it out...

"Talk to him."
"I already talked to him twice. He threw me out."

"Yeah, if her daddy hadn't been drunk, she might never been born."
...Wow. I actually have a new quote to add to my Amber website o_o

"You really don't...feel any sense guilt?"
I love Lisa Edelstein. She's gorgeous and fabulous and if she's given good material, she shines. LE was great; Cuddy sucked. She's just a plot device (or T&A) these days. =/
(Oh, and they're playing the sad!bus crash!music here T_T)

"If you want to keep him, just let him know he's not alone. Tell him you feel like crap."
"It'd be meaningless."
"Well, then, find some meaning. And do something."
Uh oh.

Should have been more specific on "something."

Confuzzlement. "...it's for you."

"If I told you that I was sorry, would that change anything?"

"I wouldn't believe you."

"If you believed me."
"It's hard to imagine such a world."
They're such bitches to each other. I love it.

"I'm going home until you agree to stay at this hospital."
"You can't be--...That's blackmail."
Wilson never ceases to be amazed at just how fucked up House is.

"Your conscience bleeds more freely than my head."
I kind of want this picture, with this quote underneath it, as a wannabe pseudo-inspirational poster for the sheer WTF value.

"You'd jeopardize a patient because of my--"
"If it keeps you here."

"Your friendship matters more to me than this patient."

Yes, Wilson. House is willing to kill for your love.

"WHERE IS HE?"

"This is how you show your friendship? By bludgeoning him with guilt?"
"Because he's my friend, I know what works on him."

"I can't let you walk away from a patient."
"Then fire me."
"You're willing to risk your career, but you're not willing to say you're sorry?"
"I told him I'm sorry. He didn't believe it."
"Well, make him believe it!"
...Cuddy. Stop saying slashy things.

"I don't believe it."
"Because you don't want to believe it. Because if you tell Wilson how you actually feel, about him, about what happened to Amber, about your part in what happened, and he walks out the door anyway...if you make yourself vulnerable for once in your nerve-deadening, emotionally-obliterating--" *slam*
Damn, Cuddy's really getting pissed here. Is she still talking about House and Wilson?
(And why the hell is her best dialog in a long time about H/W? Not that I'm complaining, but...)

"You're doing the same thing he is! You're running away! Only he's not killing anyone in the process."

"She'll be fine without me. I'll be nothing without her."
...wow.

I'm sorry, but...I'm watching a slashy episode, see the words "Pole to Pole," "Republican," and a picture of two dudes...my mind goes to filthy, filthy places.

"MINE."

"This is your 9-1-1? Bye."

"Stop."
...in the name of love!
Before you break my heart... (too late)

"...unless you both sit down."
Look. At. The. Eye. Contact. *implodes*

"Welcome to couple's counseling."
Cuddy, you're really not building a strong case for you and House to get in the sack.

More awkward silence.

"You guys need to talk."

"Talk to each other."

"How you doin'?"
"Fine. Thanks."
THEY'RE STILL IN SYNC WTF.

"Sit." Roll over. Fetch.

"He's in pain. And your response is to emotionally blackmail him."
"You already told me what your position is on that one. You're against it, right?"

"Yes, but she hasn't told you in front of me. She needs to prove you're on my side."
Thank you, Wilson.

"Go to hell."
Get over yourself!

"So much for that theory."

"blahblah walking away from everyone that cares about you!"
...not before last year, they didn't >_>

"You think Amber would want you to walk away--"
"Nobody at this hospital even liked Amber." And Thirteen was the only who had legit reasons to hate her, really.

"We can aspire to anything. But we don't get it just because we want it."
YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT~!
"I would rather spend my life close to the birds, than waste it wishing I had wings."

One day, while Wilson was sexily filing...stuff...

*flashbacks to Wilson/Cameron shippy days*
*temporarily forgives Cameron for uncalled-for S3 bitchiness*
Awwww..

Weepy Wilson. It's canon now.
(Well, not that he's not allowed after not shedding a single tear for nearly four seasons...)

"You want me to make the call?"

"You should leave."
Wilson would like to subscribe to Foreman's newsletter.

"House doesn't want to lose his sidekick. Cuddy doesn't want to lose her check on House. No one's talking about what you want."
Oh, Foreman's right. But I still hear a hint of - what's that - bitterness~!

"It's not that I want to do this--"
"Want to, need to. If getting away from this place makes your life even a little easier, do it. It's what everyone else would do."
Yeah, he's bitter. I knew I didn't buy that change crap.

"You're not like me. Maybe you have wings."
This lesbian subtext is rapidly becoming text.

THEY CLEARLY WANT TO DO EACH OTHER. MUCH LIKE HOUSE AND WILSON.

House reaches down towards Cuddy's crotch and she gasps.
...LOL.

"Why do you think Wilson's leaving?"
"How many times do I have to use the word 'idiot'?"
"And that's a good enough answer for you?"

"Whenever anybody does anything out of the norm, you have to tell them what screwed up process is really at work in their head. That is why I locked the two of you in a room."
Oh, that's why? *inconspicuously hides the lube* *whistles*

"So you would say something stupid and insensitive with just a little bit of truth. But you didn't."

"So I can only assume you don't want to know the reason. You're afraid to know."

"I'm going back on the road with Patty."
"Do you really think she can change?"
"I don't know. Truth is, I don't know--"
"You can change!"
"No. I'm not sure I want her to change...she's reasonable. She's just another employer, and I'm just another employee. In a weird way, I matter."
Wow, she kind of sounds in love with her boss there...

"I like you better now that you're dying."
Uh...thanks?

"Almost dying changes nothing. Dying changes everything."
...I fucking love this show.

I just knew we were gonna get some good vulnerable!House here...

"...I'm sorry."

"I know I didn't try to kill her, I didn't want her hurt, I know it was a freak accident. But I feel like crap, and she's dead because of me."

*holds breath*
"...I don't blame you."
Why? Why does the tone of his voice make me melt?

House D:

"I wanted to. I tried to. I must have reviewed Amber's case file a hundred times to find a way...but it wasn't your fault."
I'm such a sucker for RSL's voice. I just want to loop the first part of this for sheer pleasure.

"Then we're okay? I mean...I know you're not, but maybe I can help...?"
THIS IS GOING TO END IN TEARS, ISN'T IT?

"We're not okay."

"Amber was never the reason I was leaving. I didn't want to tell you, 'cause...because I was, like I always do, trying to protect you..." T_T

"Which is the problem."

"You spread misery because you can't feel anything else. You manipulate people because you can't handle any kind of real relationship. And I've enabled it. For years."

"The games, the binges, the middle-of-the-night phone calls..."
NO. NO. DON'T YOU DARE FUCKING CRY. DAMNIT. ;_;
(And to those that made the "middle-of-the-night phone calls" = "booty calls" comments...LOL ILU.)

Uh oh. Wilson's all emotional now. There goes his censor...

"I should have been the one on the bus, not--"
WOW DUDE I HOPE YOU'RE STILL ON THOSE ANTIDEPRESSANTS.

"You should have been alone on the bus. If I learned anything from Amber, it's that I need to learn to take care of myself."

"We're not friends anymore, House." OUCH.

"I'm not sure we ever were." DOUBLE OUCH.

Now for some emo!House...

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE SOLE IMAGE USED AS AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR THIS SEASON. IT IS ICONIC.

Randomness that occurred to me since the episode aired:

There's a lot of reasons why I find House and Wilson's relationship is so compelling, and I just figured out one of them. Their relationship is, simultaneously, romantic and very warped. On the one hand, House and Wilson's love for each other is so deep and so steady. But that kind of love is also pretty horrifying; it's what makes Wilson want to protect House, even if it means losing his job (multiple times, even) or going to jail. It's what makes House willing to risk his mind, his life - another person's life - for Wilson's sake. Sometimes, it's beautiful and touching; other times, it's just plain creepy and codependent.

And this episode really emphasized this with the parallels between the patient and her boss, and Wilson and House. The patient comes back to her boss in the end, not sure if she'll change - not really wanting her to change. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the outcome for House and Wilson, who are so entangled in each other's lives, that change seems unfathomable to them, and Wilson believes his only chance at change is to cut House entirely out of his life. They're both so wrapped up in each other, that during the entirety of this episode, they both look very lost (as much as Wilson insists otherwise); they don't know what they want if the other's not around - or if they even want anything if they don't have each other. They can (and have) hurt each other the most and likely make each other the happiest, and their relationship inspires both joy and sadness in me. In the same scenes, even.

House and Wilson's love is both what society idealizes, yet at the same time cautions against. It attractive and repulsive. It's a contradiction, just as House and Wilson are individually. Or is two sides of the same coin, as House and Wilson are together?

This is pretty much why I'd have a hard time accepting either of them paired with someone else permanently. (Especially now that Amber's dead...) There's room for other friendships, sure, but they're lovers whether they accept that or not.

FOR THE TL; DR CROWD:
HUGH LAURIE AND ROBERT SEAN LEONARD GOING AT IT WOULD BE HOT. IF YOU DISAGREE, YOU'RE A COMMUNIST.

DAMN COMMIES.
