Excellent analysis. I love metas like this. I enjoy them more than fanfiction, honestly.

Deep, wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be wonderful if the parallels proceeded as an story arc such that:

The infarction was the beginning of the end of House's romantic relationship with Stacy.

The electrocution was the beginning of the end of House's platonic relationship with Wilson.

That would be the ultimate mirror effect.

I always keep my expectations low, so I'm not counting on it... but some continuity would be nice. I should note that it's interesting that the script didn't have a follow-up scene after the "I love you." Dramatically speaking, a follow-up would either undermine the tension of the scene or it would open a can of worms that would be too large to deal with in a single episode. I believe it may be a little bit of both.

Now, I think it is safe to make the following assumptions of what will happen after 97 seconds with respect to House and Wilson's friendship:

1.) Their behavior may return to the same comfortable camaraderie we saw from Season 1, with the exception that we now know how they deep their friendship truly lies based on the events of Seasons 2 and 3. It's odd, but in retrospect, the events of season 3 made the scene significantly more earned and meaningful.

2.) Wilson's depression may be addressed, and consequently his hotel living conditions. If this does happen (and loathe to the writers if they fail to take care of this scenario they've started), I can see two possibilities: a.) House bullies Wilson into building a new home and life as he bullied Wilson into facing his inevitable divorce in House v. God, or b.) House, while snarky and obnoxious as always, takes Wilson's needs into better consideration. Some combination of the two is a likely bet . He did, after all, take Wilson's feeling into consideration Wilson before stabbing the socket of doom (read: paging CTB, whom I find far more entertaining than 13).

Upon looking at House's various relationships (be they romantic or friendly) throughout the series, it's downright indisputable that his relationship with Wilson is the most textured, the most nuanced, and most complex in the entire show. It has been through so much shit and back that I fail to see how TPTB are going to make any romantic interest as captivating as these two (even if they will never become anything more than friends).

It is no contest, which is why it pains me to watch the Numbers compete for House's fellowship (the whole ordeal strikes me as utterly stupid, unfortunately). Having said that, I feel sorry for 13. I admit, I think she's hot. I can't resist staring at those catty eyes. They're gorgeous. Sadly, the actress seems to be stuck with the role of sexual interest. If the writers are worth their salt, they will avoid relegating Cameron's previous role to her. She's clearly a smart cookie, but what else is she? It better be more than something House (or Wilson) can tap. They have Cuddy for that anyway, and it's a shame that she's not given as much dimension as Wilson has. This show seriously can't write women outside of their vaginas.

It's almost laughable because we all know TV romances are almost always short lived. Friendships, on the other hand, almost always endure. And THAT is where we win.
