Oh, actually, it could be that the writers/PTB were indeed going for humor with the "I Love You," but if that's true, then HL decided to play the line straight, completely serious. So either way, House was serious when he said it, whether or not it was supposed to play that way. But if TPTB were going for a joke, and HL chose to play it serious, then OMG HL is even more awesome than he was before, if that's even possible. Yay for Team H/W!
