Cuddy...hurts me =(

This House/Cuddy storyline is riding on my nerves with each increasingly senseless episode.

Everything in my previous incoherent rant is still, sadly true. And yet I'm still disappointed.

Over and over, I try to give Cuddy a chance. In S3, I was in denial for a while that she sucked. Towards the end of S4, I started getting my hopes up that she could stop being T&A and start being a character again. And then "Joy" ruined that. And for the past week, I was thinking, Cuddy wasn't so bad so far this season, outside that kiss...

I think it's LE's fault I keep trying to talk myself into liking Cuddy. Or maybe it's that so many people ship House/Cuddy and find the very scenes I see a pathetic, as touching, so I think maybe I'm crazy? But, no. I'm not. This storyline blows. The chance for House/Cuddy was either three seasons ago, or at a least a season into the future after developing Cuddy's neglected character. TPTB chose neither, hooray for us.

I had no sympathy for Cuddy. She acted like a complete dumbass the entire episode, so she deserves what she gets.

Also, I'm sick of the implications that if you hate this storyline with a fiery passion, it's because you're a stupid slasher. I also hate the weird, overinflated view of House and Cuddy's relationship that is at lest 90% fanwank. LE and a part of fandom think House and Cuddy were close ever since college, but that's not canon. It's not even suggested that's the case.

Even when I shipped them, I thought they had a fling in college, and never talked again until Cuddy hired House. Yes, I think my fanwank is superior, because their early interactions (the actual meat of the relationship) suggests that they're not that close. Hell, House doesn't even consider Cuddy a friend. He hardly payed attention to her at all last season.

And the biggest reason this storyline is EPIC FAIL? It came immediately after an amazing House/Wilson storyline, just begging for more comparison between the two storylines. House and Wilson's actions made sense. Cuddy and House's, don't. House and Wilson had depth. Cuddy doesn't. House and Wilson drew on development from the previous four seasons. Cuddy hasn't had development since, ever, really, and the writers decided to just throw in a bunch of cliches in hopes they would somehow work. The House/Wilson story was completely and utterly captivating and moving. The House/Cuddy leaves me cold; I can't even buy their friendship anymore, much less romantic interest. (Hell, or sexual attraction. The sizzle fizzled a while ago, when House stopped respecting Cuddy even as a person.)

Just...so disappointed. I need to stop letting Cuddy break my heart =/
