Dollhouse 106

Joss Whedon wasn't kidding about making us uncomfortable...

Okay, it's official. Dollhouse is my favorite show now. Seriously. Big Love's already been displaced. Between the increased ratings last week and the AMAZINGNESS of this episode, I'm feeling plenty optimistic about it's future.

Ah, Fox's meddling...it definitely made this episode more explosive. The first five episodes make the series look like it's going to be pretty much procedural, and then this episode comes along. Anyone who wasn't squicked by what they've seen so far are pretty much forced to face it.

And on that note: HEARN. OH MY GOD.

OH MY GOD.

OH MY GOD.

D:

POOR SIERRA.

...

OH MY GOD.

I really can't say anymore on that one. Oh, except this: I hope this nips in the bud the whole concept of shipping the actives with anyone. Ick.

Mellie being an active, not shocking. Once Victor turned out to still be around, I was extremely suspicious about her still being November. A lot of people who didn't even know about November were speculating about her already, including my mother and sister. I do wonder where that's going to go...

That was amazing.

That episode had me on the edge of my seat.

What Hearne did disgusted me.

People actually ship the Actives? I don't ship anyone on the show (especially the Actives). I view the Actives in sexual situations as non-sexual and very child-like so I wouldn't be comfortable shipping them with anyone.

I think Joe was right about Ballard and how he has this fantasy about Carolyn, which kind of creeps me out. I don't know why. I guess his view is supposed to be enduring and romantic, but I can't help thinking that he has his own fantasy which is just as obsessive and sick as the clients of the Dollhouse. I'm probably wrong, but that's the vibe I got from him.

If two characters exist, and are in a scene together...yeah. There's, rather predictably, Boyd/Echo shippers. And Ballard/Echo ones.

I think Joe's right, too (and Mellie). I was kind of getting a vibe from Ballard, but wasn't sure until this episode. Creepy, yes. Honestly, I was starting to feel weird about his relationship with Mellie, too...But I rather like that the "good guy" is a bit of a creep himself.
