WHERE TO BEGIN?
First - YAY LOOMIS IS BACK. Between the promo for next week and Fox's spoilertastic April Fools video, my guess is that after Ballard gets into the Dollhouse, they give him the smackdown and force him to work for them somehow (whether it's actual imprinting or what). Loomis then picks up where he left off next season. As she said, she believes him now. And I love her irrationally.
Anyway.
Seriously, if anyone doesn't realize Ballard's creepy now...they're seriously dense. God. The sex scene with Mellie...this was me the entire time: "WTF D:" And the next morning, realizing he's a creeper and wallowing in self-loathing, calling himself a Dollhouse client. I JIZZED IN MY PANTS. IT WAS SOME AWESOME. AND NOW I'M CAPSLOCKING. SORRY.
Topher! I just shook my head, and thought, he's a sad, sad little boy. I felt sorry for him. He imprinted an active...to play laser tag with. No sex. Just stuffing cake in each other's faces. Christ. I think the Topher hate may die down a bit. Still an amoral creep, but come on...he's so pathetic.
And the fabulous DeWitt, knowing about and allowing this so he won't be so lonely. And at the same time, no longer allowing herself such a luxury after being betrayed by Dominic...I read an interview with Fran Kranz earlier today, and he mentioned DeWitt being motherly towards Topher, and now I see what he meant. I also thought it was interesting DeWitt's friend seemed rather similar to her - cold and distant on the outside, but she really does care about others. Yeah, she runs the Dollhouse, but this week and last week make me feel for her so much.
Now, back to the A-plot: HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP. So we have some more info about how they get the imprints - the person has to be alive at the time, as I thought. And they weren't kidding about the technology having far-reaching consequences. Immortality. Whoa. (I said "Ghost in the Shell!" to myself early in the episode.)
Um, the Manhattan Dollhouse is canon. 18 more to go. (Well, 17, I guess. Tokyo was kind of implied on early on.)
Dichen, Enver, and Eliza were all flawless this week!
Next week just looks fantastic. (And don't get me started with November looking like a BAMF in the finale promo pics.) I can't believe there's only 2-3 episodes left. This episode had me screaming "I REJECT ANY REALITY WHERE THIS SHOW ISN'T RENEWED" over and over.
Comments
Especially - "This episode had me screaming "I REJECT ANY REALITY WHERE THIS SHOW ISN'T RENEWED" over and over."
Seriously this episode was great and next week is going to be EPIC. I don't understand the hate towards Topher and the love for Ballard.
I actually would hang out with Topher. He seems kind of sweet in a dorky, nerdy way. I just want to cuddle him.
Ballard. Still creepy. Maybe they make Ballard a doll! That would be so awesome!

Topher, I would probably hang out with, but give him shifty eyes the entire time...don't quite trust that one. Yeah, I don't get the Topher!hate. Some of the complaints were that he tries too hard to be funny...but that's the point! Every time he makes a joke, the other characters completely ignore him. It's so...well, pathetic. Like DeWitt said, he doesn't know how to reach out to people. (God, this episode is making me ship Topher/Ivy without Ivy even appearing...)
I think they are making Ballard a doll. I just rewatched the promo; DeWitt says, "should we put him in the chair?" OMFG.
