Star Trek

I am the daughter of a Trekkie (Aunt: "Trekkers! Trekkers!), so I watched and enjoyed Stark Trek by default, and sometimes make somewhat obscure references to both the original series and The Next Generation.

So, of course, I saw the reboot film.

Final assessment: 100% AWESOME. CAN NOT WAIT FOR MORE. WANT TO MARATHON THROUGH THE ORIGINAL SERIES LIKE A CRACKHEAD AND GET INTO THE FANDOM. OMG. THAT GOOD.

Spock/Kirk - still slashy! (Come on, Spock Prime lies to Kirk so they can ~be together~ in this alternate reality.) Spock/Uhura=WINNNNNN. (I'm not sure how much of that is just me wanting to do Spock, but still, WINNNN.) My mom was all "WTF?" about that, but then she said there was an episode where Spock had to get married and Uhura acted weird...

Did I mention it was awesome watching this movie with a Trekkie? ("WHUT? SPOCK'S MOM DOESN'T DIE." LOL. So I knew something was up early on...)

AND THE RED SHIRT LOL. "We're going to kick Romulan ass, yeah!" I swear, I thought, he should die immediately for maximum lulz. And he did. And we laughed really loudly in the theater.

Oddly, I wasn't terribly distracted seeing Jennifer Morrison in the movie, but somehow I missed the memo that JOHN CHO IS SULU. So the entire first scene he's in, I kept going, OMG I KNOW THAT GUY.

Speeeaking of casting, how awesome was the casting? Kirk was a total ass. I totally bought him. And Spock - holy shit that guy can do a lot with his eyes. AND HOW ADORABLE WAS CHEKHOV? I SWEAR, HE LOOKED 12 YEARS OLD.

But, seriously, is it too early for me to go Kirk/Spock/Uhura OT3? Y/N?

*insert fifty eleven other things that were awesome, but mind is too tired to remember at the moment*
