I was majorly pissed at the way last week's episode ended, but I was willing to wait for this week's in hopes the rampant OOCness and Logic Fail would make sense. And it does. It was an hallucination. House made up this fantasy, but as "Amber" tells him, it's not who he is.
Meanwhile, Wilson, for once, decides not to give his obligatory "back of bitch" speech to Cuddy (which would have been funny and really awkward). He does come off rather conflicted about House's behavior. "That's great. *grits teeth*"
The more I think about it, the more I have a glimmer of liking for Cuddy now. Not only is she not a predator (or clueless), she seemed she was getting her shit together. And she's drawing the line at her baby. (Hey, she still exists!) The way Cuddy ignored House at the end of "Joy to the World" was something I LIKED. House can talk shit about her, but not about her daughter - her mama bear is coming out =)
I loved that she took House to Wilson. That just says all that needs to be said.
EDIT: Also, Cuddy stalking House in college was just part of his hallucination, too. She hasn't been pining for 20 years. THANK INVISIBLE SKY BEING FOR SMALL MIRACLES. My Cuddy-allergy is going away...
Of course I loved the ending. Sad, yes, but I'm an angst whore. It ended with House/Wilson (again!), intercut with scenes from Chase and Cameron's wedding. They've been paralleing the two at least since S3, if not earlier. I love the Chase/Cameron relationship for what it is and all its flaws, but I think a part of me wants to see them make it because that's mean House/Wilson can make it.
And I was happy with the resolution to sperm-gate. Cameron's always been a little like Wilson. She doesn't let go easily.
I love House and Cameron's scenes ever since she went blonde. Especially this week.
The patient was great, but I need to pay more attention to him on my re-watch. Very much reminds me of the patient's significance in "Don't Ever Change." St. Doris writes some tight scripts.
Yes, I thought for a half a second Wilson would hug House. Or pat him on the shoulder. Something. It made the scene sadder that he didn't =(
What can I say? I'm back next season. Though I'm hoping Target runs the deal they had last year and I can get this season for only $35. It still stands 1/3 sucked entirely.
Comments
Agreed! The only episodes I liked were Birthmarks, the Social Contract and probably this one. (There were a few scenes that I liked in other episodes, but not enough to like the entire episode). Under My Skin was great until the Huddy and of course A House Divided was awesome, but overall the entire season was meh due to the Huddy.
And I was happy with the resolution to sperm-gate.
Me too. I'm glad that Chase and Cameron can finally be happy (they probably won't be sunshine and roses happy, but happy nonetheless).
I read all the reactions at H_W before I watched episode. At first I was worried that it was going to end badly, but it didn't. I hope the Huddy is dead. I'm actually starting to like Cuddy again because she found her backbone again.
And I was happy to see Amber and Kutner again (even if they were only hallucinations).
There are definite parallels between Chase/Cameron and House/Wilson as you mentioned and I'm hoping that the writers will continue down this path. I want more House/Wilson in season 6!
S6 here we come!
Yeah, my best friend and I were quite pleased at House and Wilson symbolically getting married.
Yes, they got married! And in "Don't Ever Change" they were paralleled to a married couple. Come on now, TPTB...
