Okay, first off...I was right. The compression was REALLY apparent in this episode. My mom wasn't paying as much attention as should have been during the first few minutes, and she got a little lost. And as much as I like the twist that Echo is in love with Paul (and trying to get in his pants, lol), that was something that would have played WAY better over many episodes. Alas, we don't have many episodes. I'll take what I can get.

Dude, poor Ivy. That is all. Wait, no, I suddenly just noticed the parallel between her and Adelle. Maybe Ivy should backstab Topher and she'll finally get some respect.

Also, it's fascinating that Topher knew what Harding and Rossum were really up to and what the implications were...but he STILL went ahead and made the tech, because he's curious. And he kept it around instead of destroying it once he figured it out for some ungodly reason. Holy. Shit.

SPEAKING OF. Adelle just gave a huge hand in ending all of civilization. Didn't see that one coming. And the confrontation between her and Topher? Intense. This here is why she's my favorite character.

Sierra/Victor were lolertastic this week.

I was really surprised we actually SAW Alpha blow up that dude. Seriously. I thought they were going to cut away. That just jumped out at me.

So back to Echo and Paul. Looks like Echo was trying to wine and dine Paul rather than the other way around. I'm willing to go along with it since we don't have the luxury of seeing their relationship develop over a longer period of time. I'm also officially placing bets that Caroline will NOT like Paul.

Glad to see the consent issue come up, though I had been thinking about it in terms of Boyd/Claire. This is where the "it's rape!" point starts to get a bit gray...Echo's right, she isn't all of her imprints, she wants in Paul's pants because SHE wants in. And had he gone along with it, then it would be consensual. At least between him and Echo. But can Caroline be considered raped if she's not even in the body (and then there's the whole core concept "can you erase a soul?" and to a certain extent Echo and Caroline are the same...brain hurts).

When I read the episode description--"one member of the house is permanently mind wiped"--seriously, I was thinking it would be someone like Ivy. But since it's Paul, it can't be all that permanent...'cause, yanno, Epitaph One and all.

So, next week, Victor backstory and the Attic. Can't wait.

EDITS: Because it's Dollhouse.

Victor-imprinted-as-the-doctor: "She gets to be both the virgin and the whore, and she's celebrate for both." I kind of love that of all the actives used, it was Victor. Saying this to Adelle.

Client says Adelle is attractive, Harding says: "In her day." That scene was...weird. I felt like we're being set up for something. Maybe Adelle used to be a doll? Who knows with this show.
