(This set of caps is moreso shamelessly House/Wilson than usual.)
Cate = Wilson. Sean = House. IS THIS SCENE SYMBOLIC ENOUGH? No? Well, there's more to come!

ZOMG. Coma Guy makes his triumphant return!

I'll be taking caps of these two, because. GUH. THE PARALLELS.

Foreman suggests we bring Wilson in. I greatly concur.

Took 15 minutes for him to show, but it's worth it. Oh yes, indeed.

"She says she cares about other people? What a poseur." I know, she's trying to be you or something.

SEX. (If someone turns this into an animated icon, I'll do nasty and possibly illegal things for them.)

Blah blah blah...

TRANNY HOOKERS. I swear House has a tranny fetish or something. Not to mention he again makes a "Cuddy is a man" joke later in this episode! WTF?

Back to business.

"I said it first!"

Aaaand House is onto him. Do you think he can smell the sex on him?

...I'm sorry. The second time around, the repeated use of the word "jerking" distracted me.

"I was being mature."
"....in a lavender shirt."

"You, for some reason, are happy." In his lavender shirt.

"The Health Department, they frown on topless oncology."

...I just can't sully this episode with fake quotes. It's great the way it is.

House is still mixing alcohol and Vicodin. That makes my liver cry.

House points out she only had one visitor. She said she doesn't want anyone to worry. *coughwilsoncough*

Wilson's back! =D

House likes her. But if she = Wilson. Hm...

"He's annoyed by her, constantly insulting her, doesn't respect her as a doctor..."
"That's House's version of courtship."

"Oh my god. He's been wooing me for years." I thought he was going to say, "wooing you for years." Even though we all know Foreman's thinking it.

Wilson analyzes House. You know, like Cate.

"We're gonna be here all night." SHUT UP. YOU KNOW YOU WERE THINKING IT, TOO.

So, House is attracted to Cate. Who is Wilson. And Wilson is attracted to Amber. Who is House. QUEER. In both senses of the word.

*sighs* Wilson...

"...You...used her name."

"Just trying to move things along. Bob." Meta joke. Ha.

Anyways...

"You okay?"
Uh oh. Wilson is suspicious-jealous.

Now to mock House. (By the way: they're all smushed up next to each other in that big ass elevator. Seriously, who does that?)

"You never ask me that question, and you saw me fall down a flight of stairs drunk." .....so many questions about that one.

"You slept with her." And he says it so accusingly.

"Somehow, you've been...intimate with her." Picking up House's obsessive habits now, Wilson?

...

"Why are you following me?"

"I thought you were following me."

"No, you are definitely following me."

"Where are you going?"
"Out to lunch."

"Sandwiches can come here."
"So can human beings."
"But she's not, which I find interesting."

"I'm leaving now."

"Are you going to follow me into my car?"
"....it's got two doors." (How does my mind jump to filthy, filthy thoughts from that? How?)

Don't you understand it yet, Wilson? You belong to House.

"Okay."

"Look."

"The reason I haven't told you..."

"...is..."

HOLY SHIT. RUN, WILSON, RUN. And he almost crashes into some poor woman without apologizing XD

Le sigh.

Wilson's getting some webcam action.

Cate's been doing research on Wilson. (BEST CONVERSATION EVER. Yeah, we knew this stuff, BUT SO AWESOME TO HAVE IT MADE OFFICIAL.)

"House is straightforward, brilliant, and an ass."
"Two out of three good qualities."

"You, on the other hand, have a perfect score. You're responsible, nice, human...and yet you're House's best friend."
"You think he's secretly nicer than he seems?"

"I actually think you're secretly a lot less nice than you seem."
"You always insult your doctors?"

"It's not an insult; indiscriminate niceness is overrated."
"No wonder he likes you." Cate being Wilson.

"You do not have cancer." Let's hope this turns out better than not-cancer cancer man.

"I'm screwed." Okay. I take that back.

These needed capping because of the sheer awkwardness of this.

This threesome - er, I mean, trio is pretty great, actually.

"...is that my wallet?"

"You can have it back; I've already been through it."

Hrm?

"Wilson's right. You care--"
"You didn't touch the cash, but you took the receipts?"

"$199 restaurant tab." Damn. Go Amber, go Amber!

"*sigh*"

Wilson comes up with the brilliant idea and looks hot while doing it.

I was dead after this one.

"I get enough of this from Wilson."
"And yet you keep hanging out with him. And from what I hear, you've been spending more time with me than any other patient."
And it is made official that Cate = Wilson.

Hello, House. I mean, Sean.

The Wilson is back.

See? This elevator is huge. Notice how Wilson isn't smushed up against Foreman. (Or against House. But then again, Foreman's there...)

"...why am I here?" To be House's muse. And to be pretty.

"To ask you about your girlfriend." Oh, and to bring the gay. Can't forget that.

"She doesn't have a name. Some sort of birth defect." Which is twice as funny considering no one called Amber by her real name.

"There's about twelve people we both know." I love that House is doing this in front of Foreman.

"Cuddy. Your ex-wives."
"Your momma."

Wilson's in a rush to get out of the elevator.

Everyone is following Wilson =)

"Can't be Cuddy, 'cause you're straight." .....so House is gay?

"Drink her urine?" ....wow. That's love.

"You're in love with her." House is in love with Wilson.

House then gives Sean a man-to-man talk. About love and shit. Ummmm...........*overloads*

Resolving the sexual tension...between Cate and Sean, that is. We have to wait for House and Wilson.

This music is kind of making me want to cry now.

"Thank you, House."

This look. Right here.

"He likes her." House likes Wilson.

Wilson.

House.

The showdown.

"Damn. Thought I lost you when I walked backwards in my own footprints in the snow."

"It's not one of your ex-wives."
"'Cause they hate me."
"They don't. They should, but they don't. I called them."

"Have you ever considered being happy for me?"
"Briefly."

"Girls are good, House." ....this is sad. He just sounds in denial when he says that o_o;

"You solved your case because you cared about that girl." Dude, Wilson. Cate = You.

"You're creating the illusion of manly confidence..."

Wilson had sex with Amber. Go, Amber! =D

"Your theory is, I cared, so I let her keep her socks on? If that's what love is, I want no part of it."

"It starts with warm feet. It leads to other things. Your momma and I will explain when you're older."

"But you don't care about her?"

"Of course not." OMG. WE KNOW THAT VOICE.

"House doesn't care about anyone." YES. IT'S THE BITCH. OMG OMG OMG OMG. *DIES*

House looks so...horrified? Upset?

YES. BRING ON SEXY RSL SMOOCHIES.

..........

WHAT THE HELL? WORST KISS EVER.

...okay, this one's cute.

"......Cut-Throat Bitch?"

"I call her 'Amber.'"

"Was she on your list?" Smug bastard.

This how the episode closes. COME ON. Remember the look on his face when Dr. Terzi showed up for a job? And then the next episode totally expanded on that look? OMG. THE NEXT EPISODE IS GOING TO BE SO...*IMPLODES*

...and part of the preview, after House realizes what he's said. "Oh my god. You're sleeping with me." Again, he looks a bit...horrified. In a non-jokey way.

The Sean/Cate = House/Wilson thing is all lilapaddy's dad's idea. I take no credit for that brilliance.
And on the second viewing, this episode really touched me. Like, I thought I was going to tear up at the end. This whole situation has me stirred up in a way that's rare for any media to do to me. I think "Frozen" is now my favorite episode. (Of course, "Don't Ever Change" can always top it...)
EDIT: Part of something I jotted down in my notebook this morning, so I could get these thoughts out of my head so I could focus on school work:
"How the next episode plays out will be interesting; House seems dead seriously freaked upon realizing is "sleeping with [him]." Interesting how he hones in on the sexual aspect rather than just say, "you're dating me." The next episode is (co-?)written by Doris Egan, apparently, and she brought us "House vs God" (the episode that turned many into H/W believers), "Son of a Coma Guy" (all about unconditional love), and "House Training" (which casts House as the "other woman" in Wilson's marriage). There will definitely be a lot of gags, but there will also be some seriousness. I'm predicting it will play out very much like "Resignation."
"Now for some wild speculation: this season has brought a shift in House and Wilson's relationship, as underscored by "I'm in charge of our relationship" and "Where are we going?" Wilson has the upper hand now; however, Wilson seems unaware of this, at least partly (seen by his barely acknowledging House's "I love you" with just a nod). This aligns him further with Cate, who is unaware that Sean is in love with her. Sean drinks her urine and drills a hole in her head to save her life; after these events, Cate seems to understand the implications of his actions. The only real way Sean differs from House is that House has yet to do a grand, anything-for-you kind of gesture for Wilson, but I think in the near future (well, in House-time, not ours) that House will do something big for Wilson. And when he does that, Wilson will see that House really does love him. (Heh, that's not even necessarily slashy.)
"In other words, I think this episode will bring realizations to both Wilson and House and maybe a further shift in their dynamic, but I'd be surprised to see anything hugely major like admissions of feelings. Hey, I'm impatient too, but I think the House/Wilson thing is still building. I also wouldn't surprised if there's some awkwardness between them for at least a short time, but not so much to split them up. And I love the Bitch, but I'd be surprised if Wilson is able to stay with her long if he ends up thinking "I'm sleeping with House" every time he's with her. (Regardless of how long they're together, it won't last, I'm sure of that.
In the long run, I have no idea where they plan to go with this. But I have as difficult a time believing in a House/Wilson split as I do in canonical H/W. It all seems surreal, quite frankly."
There will be more Amber-centric caps on my Cut-Throat Bitch website. Eventually. Must eat something. Now.
Comments
Haha, that is seriously the ultimate testament to its greatness, isn't it? I don't know if you ever watch the show Psych, but it's most recent episode was a similar level of slashy heaven, and in constructing a picspam in honour of it I really can't bring myself to play around with any of the actual dialogue. It's just... perfect!
Also, as much as I love CTB/Wilson, it's like they... miss each other's faces or something when they kiss. But gahhhhh they are so Power Couple-y (http://www.artdump.herstorycomics.com/screencaps/411screen183.jpg) afterwards that I will forgive them.
-snowystingray
Oh my god, I think 411 broke my brain, because I can't remember what happened on the last Psych o_o;
But gahhhhh they are so Power Couple-y afterwards that I will forgive them.
YES. They look oddly intimidating in that scene!
Seriously, this has been Official HoYay Week, so I don't really blame you for being so overwhelmed! This week's Psych was: Lassiter secretly soliciting Shawn for a favour to help solve a case; Shawn reassuring Lassiter by reminding him that he's "surround by men who love you!"; Lassiter getting reprimanded for not using proper date etiquette with Shawn; and Shawn giving Lassiter a congratulatory spank! AMAZING!
...But now I'm writing this after seeing "Don't Ever Change," which I think takes the cake as SLASHIEST THING EVER. OMG. I... why do I have homework to do for tomorrow? Why do I have anything to do ever again to distract me from how awesome this show is? Gahhhhh it's ridiculous!! *brain overload*
-snowystingray
I love you.
And.. I love you. You're possibly my favorite person ever. It might have something to do with my complete lack of access to a tv - this is how I'm getting my episodes until I find them online. So, you are God to me.
I love you.
-hawkeyefreak72
and yes, this episode was made of win on so many levels!
hmm... i detected a smirk directed at house when amber was going in for the kiss! maybe i'm just imagining things, but i love jealous!house, it's so funny (and sad at the same thing, oh house)
~coldryuuza
Amber seems oddly focused on House during that scene. That's very...insightful of her. I think.
but i love jealous!house, it's so funny (and sad at the same thing, oh house)
I agree on the sad - This time House really seems scared! Poor House.
LOL, I don't even remember Wilson saying that
Ironic, really. I just fell down half a flight of stairs today at school
Well, at least you didn't fall up the stairs....
...or did you? XD
LOL, sorry I had to say it. Random LOST Refference.
Yes, I totaly fell up the stairs, it was awesome. I saw heaven, it was full of naked RSL's. *Wipes tears* Quite beautiful, really.
I loved all the parallels between H/W and Sean/Cate. Notice that it's Cate who's the brilliant one, though? Just about the only change from the H/W relationship I see. I so totally agree that House will do something big to make Wilson realize he does love him. He has to. What he did during the Tritter era makes it mandatory. Wilson has already paid for his sin of not recognizing how badly House hurt. I hope he doesn't have to drink his pee. Perhaps he could just swallow his come? OK, that was hallucinating.
Is it me, or was that lavendar shirt a big, fat hint from the writers that Wilson is gay, even if he is dating a girl? Man, the subtext is in large print, and the text is in small print in this ep. It's fantastic. How could Mira Sorvino not see that? I loved Cate, but they're not going to give House a permanent love interest. Ever. Except for strongly subtexted H/W.
Hm, I didn't really see it as Cate necessarily being the brilliant one. They had two different jobs and all.
Is it me, or was that lavendar shirt a big, fat hint from the writers that Wilson is gay, even if he is dating a girl?
I'll throw in some hope because I'm holding out for BGW, still!
*fails at anything remotely resembling coherency*
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!
Wilson's little bashful grin after the kiss (you're right - MOST PATHETIC THING EVER!) was so incredibly ADORABLE! :D
I think I've died and gone to slasher heaven.
(arwydd from lj)
Yeah, I'm on a high, too. Still. Oh god, how am I going to function this week?
Anyone?
And House seemed to tragic at that particular resolution, and I think you've hit on the reason why--it seems to connect with his previously-mentioned inability to change/work for the people he cares about. Because the only other reason that I can think of would be that he's sad that Cate, a chick on the other side of the planet, is now taken, and, come on, that's just silly. People beyond ll-years-old don't think that way.
But you're meta on subtext make me think, and then worry. I worry that the current situation might get mishandled and that we're about to confront the subtext. And what will happen then? I have a hard time believing such a confrontation would result in canon House/Wilson. I worry that all we'll get is a Sean/Christian type situation, without all the sexy gags.
Yeah, I read a review that said they think House is in love with her. Um, no. Not to deny the extraordinary connection they had, but come on. It doesn't work that way.
I have a hard time believing such a confrontation would result in canon House/Wilson. I worry that all we'll get is a Sean/Christian type situation, without all the sexy gags.
I'm really hoping it doesn't turn out like Nip/Tuck (I think it worked for those characters, but not these), especially since there are at least two writers that support H/W. I'm expecting even more ambiguity that they're experts at, although I have no idea how they'll pull it off. (Now what I want is another thing...)
...A major point, I believe: House knew Wilson had a reason to hide his love interest, and NEVER ONCE suggested that Wilson was dating a man, which I believe is the most go-to House MD joke. I was surprised. If this joke did happen though, Wilson would have to deny they ghey.... but since they didn't go there, I think its even more evidence that the writers are taking the HouseWilson relationship in a "We will neither confirm nor deny.... *winkwink*" direction. (:

They are supreme experts at ambiguity. I can't wait to see how they pull off the next episode.
Funny, I wrote almost the exact same line in my blog yesterday :D but in Swedish.
