HURT SO GOOD

I'll be more coherent later on. Caps on Wednesday, because I have to write a paper.

WHERE TO BEGIN?

OH, YES, THE PART THAT BROKE MY HEART THE MOST. House doesn't want to live if that means Wilson hates him. And since the death!bus and Amber were obviously just his subconscious, he believes he deserves this hate. (Like believing no one would miss him if he died in "No Reason." Hopefully he's wrong again ;_;) And then House waking up and seeing Wilson and looking at him with that heartbreaking expression, and then Wilson walks away, and House ;akda;kfslfjlsdgjskghkgdhfg GYAH.

I love House/Wilson. I also love Wilson/Amber and House/Wilson/Amber. Hell, I'd be willing to accept Wilson/Amber as a final pairing and just have House-Wilson friendship if Wilson and Amber's love was tested as much as House and Wilson's. But that's also the reason I don't go for this "love of his life" crap. WTF DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? Then again, I don't go for it when people call Stacy the "love of House's life." But I do think Amber is kind of Wilson's Stacy now. All relationships impact the people involved, but a traumatic experience just makes it THAT MUCH BIGGER OF A DEAL. Wilson's going to be really fucked up now. The man already has a screwy relationship with women, and as he's possibly beginning to make some teeny-tiny baby steps towards fixing that with someone he could just possibly be happy with it, it gets taken away in the most horrifying way possible. HEY, HOUSE/WILSON SHIPPERS, GUESS WHAT? THE SHOW JUST GUARANTEED HOUSE AND WILSON WILL BE TOGETHER FOREVER WITH THAT EPISODE. (AND I SAY THAT BOTH TRAGICALLY AND JOYFULLY.)

But, yes. TESTING HOUSE AND WILSON'S LOVE. S3 was Wilson's unconditional love for House, S4 is House's unconditional love for Wilson. Seeing the blatant House/Cuddy set up, I just thought, I don't care. He's not going to be with Cuddy for long, and it's not going to have anywhere near the depth of House and Wilson's relationship. (Not even a sleight against Cuddy - NO OTHER RELATIONSHIP ON THE SHOW HAS THIS DEPTH.) NO OTHER COUPLE GETS TESTED AS MUCH AND HOUSE AND WILSON. AND AS WILSON SAID, THEY ALWAYS COME BACK. THIS IS WHAT DEEP, UNWAVERING LOVE LOOKS LIKE, BITCHES!!11!one!

OH, BOOHOO. WILSON ASKED HOUSE TO RISK HIS LIFE. HOUSE OFFERED FIRST, CUDDY TOLD HIM HE WAS AN IDIOT. AND THE SHOW MADE SURE TO SHOW US WILSON HAD TO TAKE SOME TIME TO THINK ABOUT THIS, THEN WAS ALL AWKWARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT ASKING. AND GUESS WHAT? HE WAS RIGHT, HOUSE DID FORGET SOMETHING (EVEN THOUGH IT DIDN'T HELP IN THE END). STOP TRYING TO COMPARE ONE LOVE TO ANOTHER, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO LIFE-AND-DEATH. HE LOVES HOUSE AND AMBER BOTH.

PLUS, HOUSE TOTALLY SELF-SACRIFICED FOR WILSON. CATE/SEAN PARALLELS FTW.

I'M JUST CAPSLOCKING NOW SO I SHOULD SHUT UP EVEN THOUGH THERE'S MORE I WANTED TO SAY.

ANNE DUDEK/BITCH LOVE FEST
LIKE, HOW HOT WAS THE AMBER/HOUSE SCENE? SO LOVE THIS SHOW FOR TEASING ALL MY SECONDARY SHIPS.

AND SHE SHOULD BE HOUSE'S SUBCONSCIOUS. 'CAUSE THE ANSWER = AMBER. AND SHE AND HOUSE ARE THE SAME. AND STUFF. AND IT WOULD POKE AN ANGST STICK AT HIS GUILT IN S5.

If House and Amber are of comparable significance in Wilson's life, that really cheapens the show for me and makes me question whether Wilson has any capacity for loyalty at all. Sorry.

Let's see, if you loved two different people and it was a life-and-death situation, you'd just go...fuck you, person I knew for five months? Then that would scream Wilson doesn't love or even care about Amber, which would cheapen any emotional impact.

Season 3, Cuddy assumed Wilson should just be a martyr for House and Season 4, H/W fans thinks he should always be a martyr for House. I never felt as sorry for Wilson as I do now.

I'm not saying it's an easy situation to be in but yes, I would. If I had a best friend by my side for twenty years, they would take precedence over my latest flame.

I'm talking "flame." I'm talking "love." And when I say "love," I mean well, love in general (for a friend, child, or a lover).

To me, it's no different than saying, oh, "I'll save my 15 year old and let the 7 year old die, because I had the other kid longer!"

It should be different. For one thing, kids need a lot more from us than partners, and if there were ever an instance where I had to pick between my partner and future kid's safety, the kid would win.

Relationships are in large part what the two people involved have invested in them. The initial rush of a new relationship (which Wilson and Amber were still in) is nothing compared to the tests of time House and Wilson have faced.

I said choosing one kid over another, not kid vs partner.

And, again, I'm not talking about Wilson's "OMG SO IN LOVE" feelings for Amber (because I also pointed out that their relationship has yet to be really tested). I'm talking about real love that comes when you know a person for a while (aka...caring about their wellbeing).

Also, it's not like House was going to definitely die if he did the procedure. If that were the case and Wilson asked him to do it, no matter how hesitantly, I'd have an issue.

I think I would weep for joy if Anne Dudek stayed on the show as House's subconsious. It would be so awesomely screwed-up that there aren't even words!

I completely agree. It makes me sad and just a little angry that they just killed off one of the more interesting characters that has appeared on the show. I wanted to see more of the dynamics between House, Wilson, and Amber, and by killing her off so early, they just lost the potential for a very interesting subplot that could have been sketched out further. I hope she'll still have a role in the next season, even if it's just in House's mind.

IAWTC!!!

Also, Anne Dudek is kickass and I am POSITIVE she will at least be nominated for the Best Guest Emmy. There is like no way in hell they can pass her up. IF she doesn't win, it will be a mistake. And they've GOT to at least nominate her.

I love you. Seriously, thank you for this, I could not agree with you more. I'm already sick of the (vicious) Wilson hate and the ep. aired a couple of hours ago. It's nice to know that some people get that Wilson wasn't just being a heartles b@stard to House. The man went through a lot this episode and still people think he should drop everything he's feeling to comfort House.

I'm so with you. I love H/W and W/A and H/W/A, and also every single A/H scene, because my god they have chemistry, and House likes her, as opposed to Wilson's other girlfriends/wives. That says A LOT about House and his acceptance of the relationship.

To see Wilson this much in pain.. I still remember his near indifference to when Julie kicked him out after she'd cheated on him (for which Wilson felt guilt). I've never seen him truly care and love this way before, except with House. It was magnificent. And House's recognition of it was equally huge.

And sure, Cuddy was holding House's hand by the end. BUT HOUSE WAS LOOKING AT WILSON. Looking scared and guilty, and not wanting to lose Wilson. THAT says so much more than the hand holding IMO, which he didn't pay any attention to.

And Wilson walks home alone while House is being comforted? Broke my heart.

And I agree, House suggested it first, so why is Wilson evil that he suggested it later? Wilson thought it was worth the risk. So did House. BOTH when he suggested it himself, and when Wilson suggested it.

Thank you for this.

WILSON ASKED HOUSE TO RISK HIS LIFE. HOUSE OFFERED FIRST

Exactly. It's not like it was originally Wilson's idea. And if House hadn't thought it was worth a try, he wouldn't have done it.

I don't quite get why so many people seem to think that Wilson should somehow just shrug off the fact that his girlfriend just died and move on as if nothing happened. And why Wilson should ignore his own feelings in favour of House's. I was so glad when Amber told Wilson that he needed to take care of himself, and I stand by that. He's allowed to be selfish every now and then - it makes him human.

Insert creative cursing here.

Are you effing TELEPATHIC OR WHAT!??!?!

"Amber is kind of Wilson's Stacy now" - I said the EXACT SAME WORDS to my sister, just a minute after watching the episode. Then you write this. Wow.
I think I love you. I think you're ME, because you voice ALL my thoughts in this post!!

And not only that, but the "I don't go for it when people call Stacy the "love of House's life"". I totally completely agree with that too. WILSON LOVES THEM BOTH! You shouldn't try and COMPARE which one he loves the most.
And most importantly: Wilson doesn't HATE House; it IS nice that we got to see how House didn't want to wake up if Wilson was gonna hate him; but Wilson WON't hate him. SURE, the irrational part of him might be upset right now, but COME ON!! Cut the guy some slack! His girlfriend just died in his arms, give him some SPACE to react!! D:

Also, House hasn't exactly been TEH KINDNESS to Wilson all the time. Like, IMAGINE what he'd be like after Stacy left, the infarction and all... and Wilson stayed! So like Amber (his subconcious? whichever) said, he DOES kind of deserve it. And he woke up after realizing this. Though it's really sad that he thinks Wilson will hate him. He sounded so small when he said it ^^ aww don't worry, House.. Wilson can't hate YOU! He LOVES you! (and he does. Even NON shippers must knows this by now. Platonically or whatever, he DOES love House. And House loves him. If he didn't he wouldn't care if he hated him, to the point of wanting to STAY DEAD if Wilson hated him..)

'sides, I think Wilson is doing some self-loathing, too. I mean, he just asked his best friend (oh and how cute was that, when House went "he's my best friend..") to do a dangerous experiment, resulting in House going comatose, and knowing Wilson... do you guys REALLY think he doesn't care about this? Whether they make it a big deal on the show or not, we KNOW Wilson couldn't do a thing like that, and just "forget" about ut. (oh but like you said: House OFFERED FIRST!)

Hehee...and I loved how Wilson broke down in front of Cuddy. I was hoping for a Chase/Wilson HUG there for a second, but no luck...^^

And I 100% agree about that season 3 showed us Wilson's unconditional love for House, and in s4 we - FINALLY - get to see that Wilson isn't the only one who cares in this relationship. :)

Did I tell you I love you, NekoCat? ^^

Much love

Oh, I hope you're right. I'm deathly afraid of them eventually breaking off (but it's just a feeling, as I've only seen the first season and a few episodes from this season and don't understand all the complexities yet).

Amber being House's subconscious next season would be FANTASTIC. <3

You said basically everything I've been thinking. It's like Cuddy said: House will never lose his friend.

You know, something occurred to me. Since the diagnosis House got from the rash was wrong anyway, the treatment for it would have been ineffectual. When House realized this, obviously he wouldn't let it sit, and I think the thing he's most likely to do would be to again go to extreme lengths to remember whatever it was he forgot. In other words, I think he would have ended up doing the deep-brain stimulation anyway, whether Wilson asked him to or not. Hell, whether Wilson *protested* or not.

See, I've been looking at Wilson's request from the stanpoint of plot. Looking at it this way, having Wilson ask was really just a handy way to save screentime.
